As the world’s leading steel and mining company, ArcelorMittal’s operations generate a lot of facts and figures. In 2012 alone, we produced 88.2 million tonnes of steel and shipped 83.8 million tonnes. From our mines, we extracted 55.9 million tonnes of iron ore and 8.2 million tonnes of coal.
Our business is not just about steel and mining, however, it is also about our employees and our customers.
Our corporate responsibility reports provide a wealth of information on the workplace, environment and community projects that we run. In 2012, the ArcelorMittal Foundation – a non-profit organisation focused on formalising and developing ArcelorMittal’s responsibility towards communities – invested more than US$41.17m in 725 community projects around the world.
