Skinplate : organic laminated products

Various films in a range of colours and surface finishes can be applied onto the substrate according to the required end use.

Properties

The ArcelorMittal range of organic laminated steel products is ideally suited for decorative uses in both indoor and outdoor building applications and in many other industrial applications.

Available in an exceptionnally wide range of colours, designs and surface finishes, this product is very aesthetic and durable and allows plenty of scope for creative use.

These laminated organic steels, known as Skinplate, are produced by the application of a plastic foil onto a substrate which has been previously coated with an adhesive on a coil coating line.

Advantages

The process is environmentally friendly, economical and guarantees a consistent product quality.

A multi-stage cleaning process and chemical pre-treatment ensure optimum adhesion and improved corrosion resistance of the steel.

These products meet our clients' most demanding specifications in terms of flexibility, coating adhesion, corrosion resistance, fire resistance etc.

Applications

In the table below, the Skinplate range is described with its main applications.

We advise to transform the product at a minimum temperature of 15°C.

Technical properties

Skinplate products are used for their wide range of technical properties, which depend on the chemical composition of the foil, the thichness and appearance of the coating and the type of substrate used. This range includes a suitable product for every application depending on the main properties required. These types of coatings can be applied to substrates such as electrogalvanised steel, galvanised steel or Galfan, aluminium, stainless steel, depending on the intended use and the required corrosion resistance.

The properties are summerised in the table below. Please contact us for advice on the choice of the most suitable type of foil. This data is not contractual and may be amended to take into account technological advances relating to the product.
