The guarantees offered for an outdoor building project are an important factor in the final choice of the material to be used in that project.

The Granite^® Automatic guarantee from ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon Europe, introduced on 1 July 2010, has three major improvements compared to the previous guarantee (July 2008):

• Coverage for reduced zinc thickness substrate for Granite^® Standard in Spain&Portugal on metallic coating Z200 and Granite^® HDX on metal coating minimum Z225 / ZA200 for the geographical scope Zone 1 and 2
• Extension of the guarantee to reduced paint thickness for Granite^® PVDF (25 µ), and coverage of a new product, Granite^® Wood
• Extension of the guarantee to the Granite^® organic coated steel produced by ArcelorMittal Lesaka

Key elements of the Granite^® Automatic guarantee

The following products are covered by the Automatic guarantee: Granite^® Standard, Granite^® Flex, Granite^® HD, Granite^® Deep Mat, Granite^® Cloudy, Granite^® Wood, Granite^® HDS, Granite^® PVDF and Granite^® HDX:

• Automatic means that no paper guarantee is issued to the client. The guarantee applies automatically from the moment the product is delivered to the client.
• Cut edges are covered by the Automatic guarantee for up to 10 years.
• A guarantee of up to 30 years – against corrosion and non-peeling of the paint – can apply to the whole cladding.
• The Automatic guarantee is not conditional upon mandatory annual maintenance inspections.
• For roofing applications, the slope of the roof has to be a minimum of 5% and the guarantee is not dependent on roof orientation.
• Freedom of part design is covered by the guarantee.
