Brief history

Started in 2001, the Gent facility is located within the ArcelorMittal Gent industrial site. The plant is equipped with 2 blanking lines with presses of 1250t power, an automated warehouse and 6 welding lines based on the Soudronic technology. With its powerful presses and leveller, the Gent facility can provide shaped blanks as well as tailored welded blanks. The Gent facility is particularly suited to blank and weld very high strength steel and is the first plant to weld USIBOR-parts for hot-forming applications. Gent is strongly involved in operational excellence with TPM and got its JIPM Excellence 1st category award in December 2008.

Gent is ISO/TS 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certified.
