Did you know?

The aerosol was invented by the Norwegian Erik Rotheim, who filed the patent in 1929. This process of atomizing a liquid or semi-liquid uses the concept of a closed container with a gas propellant, enabling specific quantities of a product to be diffused by simply pressing a valve.

The first large-scale use of aerosols dates back to the Second World War, when American soldiers used aerosol insecticides in the Pacific. Since the initial invention, the containers and contents have been improved but the basic concept remains unchanged.
