Strength, safety, efficiency

Just like in the consumer retail market, industrial product brands, whose numbers are increasing, seek to differentiate themselves from their competitors.

Steel, as a robust, rigid material, is particularly well-suited to the paint market. Strength and safety are guaranteed during handling, filling, distribution and home use. The same goes for professional product lines classified as “hazardous transport”, which require specific, regulated logistics conditions.

Finally, the strength of steel packaging is recognized when using paint matching systems, a process that is not yet common in Europe on the DIY market.

Steel packaging - enormous brand differentiation potential

• Steel offers excellent printing quality, and all types of decoration can be reproduced, including photographs. New print techniques bring enhanced appeal, including different steel finishes (glossy, textured, matte, silver) or varnishes providing a “peach skin” or “orange peel” tactile effect on part or all of the packaging.

•  Eye-catching and easy to identify on the shelves, the shape combines brand differentiation with convenience and function.

•  Can makers have also developed new lid solutions to facilitate opening and closing steel paint cans, making them even more convenient.

Ecological packaging

As with all steel cans, it is easy and economical to recycle steel paint cans, thanks to magnetic waste separation systems.

For recycling industrial formats, ArcelorMittal has developed a specific recycling association in France called Recyclacier Emballages.
