ArcelorMittal Foundation
The ArcelorMittal Foundation was created in May 2007. It is a non-profit organisation, focused on formalising and developing ArcelorMittal's Social Responsibility towards outside communities. In 2008, the ArcelorMittal Foundation invested over $57 million in 587 community projects
Within the framework of the Corporate Responsibility strategy defined by the ArcelorMittal Group, and especially its community engagement guidelines, the Foundation focuses on the communities surrounding the Group units, to concentrate efforts and better identify specific priority needs in every place that ArcelorMittal operates. Through the priority fields of Education, Health, Safety and Social Promotion, the Foundation strives to ensure the economic wellbeing of these communities. It favours projects that become self-sustainable after initial support, in order to reach a maximum number of beneficiaries.

The ArcelorMittal Foundation operates in 27 countries, supervising local programmes implemented by ArcelorMittal units. It also acts as a worldwide organisation investing in global programmes to support humanitarian initiatives aligned with the Foundation's mission.
Our social strategy is to set up projects to maximise the potential of each community, respecting their specific needs and empowering local resources. We promote entrepreneurship in the communities by helping people to develop their own talents. This is the surest way to enhance quality of life and to make a sustainable contribution to ongoing development.
Sustainability is thus a key word for the Foundation. Its actions are aligned with ArcelorMittal's core values of Sustainability, Quality and Leadership.
