The plant started operations in 1998 as Oxford Automotriz, providing steel blanks to automotive customers in Mexico. After the acquisition by Noble in 2005, the range of products expanded while Noble and Sumitomo created Noble Summit de Mexico as a joint venture for providing blanking and laser processing in Mexico. Today ArcelorMittal owns 50% of Noble Summit de Mexico, while Sumitomo owns the other half. ArcelorMittal tailored Blanks - Summit Silao operates two blanking lines with 500MT presses each and two laser welding systems. The customer base has grown considerably in recent years, positioning the company as one of the strongest and most competitive laser welding suppliers in Mexico.
The strategic process approach, based on TPS principles and ISO/TS 16949-2002, has helped the company succeed and achieve recognition as a benchmark for operational efficiencies and management practices.
