On December 1, ArcelorMittal Vega, Brazil, was awarded with the "Q1" Award by representatives of the multinational car manufacturer Ford Motor Company for the quality and efficiency of its services. The award grants, ArcelorMittal Vega the status of preferred supplier at Ford, allowing the company to supply any plant of the car manufacturer in the world.
"Q1" is a globally recognised award granted exclusively by Ford to suppliers that have the highest quality level in the following areas: commercial, product quality, system quality and delivery performance.
Competitive edge through technology and quality
"I recognise the difficulty for a company to achieve such a high level of quality, and therefore I congratulate ArcelorMittal Vega. Quality and technology are 2 basic criteria that ensure companies a competitive edge compared to others. We as customers chose suppliers who have these characteristics. Receiving the Ford Q1 Award is an important step. But now I encourage ArcelorMittal Vega to continue their efforts", said Wolf Girsas, Ford Purchasing Manager.
