ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Ostrava a.s.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava, Tubular Products Division is the largest producer of tubes in the Czech Republic. The production program consists of seamless tubes, rolled at two Stiefel mill trains in finish of plain end, threaded, flange and oil tubes. At the St 4-10" and St 140 mill trains the tubes are produced from the continuously cast billets only.

The oil seamless tubes - casing, pump, drill and pipe-line tubes are the most demanding products. Since 1957, the Plant is authorized to mark the oil pipes with the API - American Petroleum Institute monogram. Together with common API threads company it supplies also casing and tubing pipes with the Premium Connection (gastight thread).

The helically welded pipes are manufactured of the steel hot-rolled coils at the "Spiral Mill" both as bare and coated. The three layer polyethylene outside protection with reinforced fiber cement mortar (FZM) coating as the option is produced for usage in oil & gas industry. ArcelorMittal Ostrava disposes of the necessary controls and testers. The quality is controlled by modern non-destructive methods, which guarantee the required quality of the tubes supplied.

In the year 1992, ArcelorMittal Ostrava was successfully certified the quality system according to the ISO 9001 standard and that as the first one in the Czech Republic. The environmental system acc. to ISO 14000 was firstly certified in 1999. This year company acquired the certificate Safe Enterprise that confirms the conformity with safety specifications ILO-OSH 2001 and OHSAS 18001:1999.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava is the holder of certificates awarded by worldwide recognized certifying companies the Lloyd´s Register of Shipping Certificate of the seamless tubes production since 1988, Bureau Veritas since 1992, Det Norske Veritas since 1996 etc. It was certified by TUV NORD for production of steel seamless and welded pipes for pressure equipments devices according to the 97/23/EC directive.
