The village of co-existence is a unique project of Diocese Charity of Ostrava – Opava which contributes to a mutual convergence of the Romany and main stream society. 30 Romany, non-Romany and mixed families, which lost their homes during the floods back in 1997, live at the village.

Presents for the Ostrava hospital

Last week Sanjay Samaddar, the chairman of the Board of Directors ArcelorMittal Ostrava, visited the Fifejdy hospital to hand to Tomáš Gruszka, the head physician of the children’s ward, an LCD TV set, a DVD player and a pack of fairytales.

New incubator in the Havířov hospital

Ever since late January, the maternity ward of the Havířov hospital could boast of a new incubator. ArcelorMittal Ostrava was one of the donors that contributed to its purchase. That’s why one of the members of the Company Management, Ivo Chmelík, Investment Director, took part in the event that was organized on the occasion of the handover of the new incubator.
