Customers and Suppliers


The Company’s prosperity depends not only on contented employees but also on satisfied suppliers and customers. That is why good relationships with business partners are among the priorities of ArcelorMittal Ostrava. Improvement and development of relationships is one of our long-term strategic goals.

Supplier relationships are based on a frank, open and fair approach, integrity and mutual respect. Suppliers are chosen in consideration of objective criteria, based on quality, price, reliability, utility, performance and the services rendered.

Maximum reliability is also emphasised in customer relations. That is why the OTIF project (On Time In Full) was launched last year. It enables us to monitor whether deliveries are executed in time and fully in accordance with contracts. Within nine months, we succeeded in improving the indicator from 40 per cent in April 2007 to 82 per cent in December 2007.

In its Code of Business Conduct ArcelorMittal undertakes e.g.:

- to always deliver only clear, concrete, pertinent and honest information to its partners;
- to avoid making any statements that could be misinterpreted;
- to refrain from offering gifts or granting favours outside the ordinary course of business to customers;
- not to make promises to customers which will be impossible to keep, regarding product quality and characteristics, delivery times and prices.
