Air protection

The emission development of basic polluting substances (dust – TZL, sulphur dioxide – SO2, nitrogen oxides – NOx), emitted into the air from polluting sources of our company during the period 1997 to 2006 is illustrated in the diagram, together with the development of steel and pig iron production.

Waste and By-products handling

The production of basic-volume waste and by-products depends with small variations on the amount of basic products produced by the appropriate production plant. All mentioned kinds of waste (fly ash from coal combustion, cinder, slag, boiler dust, sludge from gas clearing, waste sand) are handed over to an authorised body for its use or disposal in accordance with the law.

Water protection

The water distribution system of our company is created by water constructions, technological equipment, and measuring and control elements, which ensure input, treatment, distribution and circulation of water, treatment of waste waters and then partial re-circulation. The concept of the water distribution system is oriented to the high circulation rate of cooling waters, representing at present more than 90 per cent.
