Our plan in this area is to make sports available for all children, especially for those that are handicapped or come from underprivileged families.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava supported Children Hiking Race

Žlutý kvítek youth hiking club was founded back in 1987. One of the club’s councilors is our employee Tomáš Huďa. This year the club was entrusted with hosting an opening race of the Czech Hiking Race Cup.

Cheops Pyramid in Ostrava

ArcelorMittal Ostrava ceremoniously presented a new rope pyramid worth of half a million CZK to the borough of Ostrava-Hrabová. „Thanks to this generous gift local pupils as well as the general public will have a chance to test its climbing skills and have fun in a way which is very unique.

Inauguration of a new multi-purpose sports ground

A new multi-purpose sports ground was inaugurated on 9th June by the Olga Havlová Grammar School in Ostava–Poruba. What had once been a grassy place with cinder surface was turned into a new up-to-date sports field in just a few months.

It was probably the major employee event of this year. Thousands of people came to sports hall ČEZ Arena to support the Czech football team in its match against the Portuguese. In spite of our huge support the Czech team was unsuccessful and lost 1:3.
