Ostrava, 30 June - By discontinuing to take hot metal, Evraz Vítkovice Steel (EVS) has again violated the spirit of the long-term agreement between the two companies. It appears that the unrealistic pricing requirements were only to conceal the actual intentions. “The base price proposal of Evraz Vítkovice Steel fails to cover even the hot metal production costs. Such a proposal is unacceptable for any producer. I must point out that we have repeatedly proposed that our cost be audited by an independent auditor. We have also offered to accept the same margin that EVS uses on its products made of the hot metal we supply. It clearly shows that the price we have offered is fair,“ explains Augustine Kochuparampil, CEO of ArcelorMittal Ostrava.
