This service covers all the transactions between ArcelorMittal FCE and customers required for ordering (Order entry, Order response and Order changes).
This service improves not only the communication between ArcelorMittal FCE and customers, but the risk of error is also decreased and it avoids paperwork.
The EDI “Orders” Service gives customers the possibility to order ArcelorMittal FCE products in their own system. These orders are transmitted through an EDI message to the system of ArcelorMittal FCE. When the order is accepted, an EDI “Order Response” message is sent and immediately integrated in the customer’s system. The customer has the extra possibility to change the order, by sending within a certain time an EDI “Order Change Request” message. If ArcelorMittal FCE accepts this change, another order response is sent.
The customer has in his own system a database of the ArcelorMittal FCE products he consumes. He has marked these products with his own product numbers and with his own descriptions. For the customer it would be easy if he could order products on the basis of his own references. These orders are transmitted from the customer's system through an EDI message to the ArcelorMittal FCE system. The contents of these messages are converted into ArcelorMittal FCE language and the orders will be checked.
If ArcelorMittal FCE can come up to this order, the customer will receive an order response per EDI, immediately integrated in his system. This way of booking orders is easy to use, because the customer can use his own system.
Moreover, this service is flexible, because the customer can (within a short period after ordering) change his order. This request for order change will also be sent trough an EDI message to the ArcelorMittal FCE system. If ArcelorMittal FCE can accept this change, a new order response will be sent.
