When ArcelorMittal was entering the Polish market in 2004, one of the first company’s decisions was to introduce a complex investment programme aiming at modernization of Polskie Huty Stali.
Strategic investments
Capital outlays in 2004-2007, worth over PLN 3 bn, exceed our obligations stipulated in the privatization agreement of Polskie Huty Stali. The investment programme was completed with a grand opening of the new hot strip mill in Kraków on July 27, 2007.
Investments despite the crisis
We continued investments despite challenging economic conditions. Both in 2009 and 2010, we spent PLN 300 m on innovations.
In 2011 and 2012, we invested heavily in technologies aiming at increasing the quality of our products and improving our environmental footprint.
By the end of 2013 we will have completed four new investment projects, worth in total PLN 250 m.
