ArcelorMittal increases its technological lead by patenting a firebreak wall with a very high fire-resistance performance.

This – perfectly symmetrical – wall has a number of layers of glass foam, plaster and fibro-silicate surrounded by two alu-zinc-coated sheets. All the elements are “assembled” by specially designed adhesives.

The fire-resistance tests demonstrate the exceptional heat insulation of the 4-hour Firebreak wall. While the side exposed to the fire rises to 1200° C after 4 hours, the other side is at temperatures of close to 100° C.
