Located in the Biscay municipality of Sestao, on the banks of the Bilbao River and connected to the rest of the world by the Harbour of Bilbao, ArcelorMittal Sestao is a steel company that belongs to the ArcelorMittal group, technologically advanced and with a highly qualified workforce.
Best Available Technologies
ArcelorMittal Sestao is a new generation steel plant, that produces hot rolled steel coils and hot rolled pickled steel coils. All our facilities are characterised by having processes considered as Best Available Technologies (BATs) in their design and construction. We also have the most advanced technology in the sector. Depending on the mix of products, a capacity of 1,800,000 tonnes of hot rolled steel coils and 600,000 tonnes of pickled coils can be achieved annually. ArcelorMittal Sestao has a high level of flexibility and a fast turnaround time, which enables us to adapt to needs at any given time in a highly automated way and, furthermore, with very high levels of safety.

ArcelorMittal Sestao is committed to preventative actions and to continuous improvement, embodied through the establishment of an Integrated Management System (IMS), which enables the manufacture of our products in a safe working environment, the quality of our products and services are guaranteed within the framework of absolute respect for the environment.
Because of its degree of support and commitment to sustainability, the ArcelorMittal Sestao plant was finalist in the European Environmental Awards in 2006, chosen among 139 companies from 23 EU countries. This prize, awarded by the European Commission, is the recognition of being one of the 3 best European companies due to its successful integration of innovation, economic viability and environmental management.
