Recognitions
- At the 3rd European Environmental Awards 2005/2006, in the Basque and State Section,ArcelorMittal Sestao was awarded for its Sustainable Development Management (awarded by the Prince of Asturias Don Felipe de Borbón and the President of the Basque Government Juan José Ibarretxe).
- On April 5th , 2006, the Corporate Social Responsibility Bizkayan Forum recognised ArcelorMittal Sestao´s commitment and good practices in the field.
- On June 1st, 2006, ArcelorMittal Sestao was finalist in the European Environmental Awards at the European Union headquarters (Brussels), and was awarded second prize among 139 companies in 23 countries of the E. U.
- On June 22nd , 2006, a team of employees from the Pickling Line at ArcelorMittal Sestao visited ArcelorMittal Fos to present their improvements, been recognised as part of Eureka Groups.
- On November 14th, 2006, Euskalit recognised ArcelorMittal Sestao as an Example of Implementing the 6S's Methodology, an event attended by representatives from both areas, along with the Executives and Management of 6S's.
- On November 29th, 2006, “RETO-CSIS” was held at the 44th CSIS Congress, where ArcelorMittal Sestao was recognised for good practices implemented in the previous year (RAA, Restricted Access Areas). The event was attended by the multidisciplinary work team at ArcelorMittal Sestao.
- On April 20th, 2007, ArcelorMittal Sestao was awarded the Bronze Prize from WCM for its “Management Excellence.” The World Class Manufacturing Association awarded the price at the Guggenheim Museum. The act was attended by various institutions and employee representatives from ArcelorMittal Sestao.
- In november 2008, Euskalit (Basque Foundation for Quality) awards ArcelorMittal Sestao with a Silver Diplome in 5S´s due to the good implementation of this metodology in the site.
