ArcelorMittal

CSP Technology

ArcelorMittal Sestao is a plant that uses Compact Strip Production (CSP) technology for the manufacture of hot rolled steel coils and hot rolled pickled steel coils, melting scrap metal in the Electric Furnaces and contributes to the recycling of steel.

Thanks to this technique, we do not need large facilities, by using a simple and flexible process we are able to manufacture a steel coil of up to 30 tonnes in less than three hours. The control of speed and temperatures of this technology ensures a high homogeneity in mechanical properties along the coil.

Also, the CSP technology enables us to reach a millimetre of thickness in a catalogue of qualities that grows continually and that presents its own options of Ultra Thin strips. This also offers the possibility of achieving very tight tolerances, which allows the comparison of ArcelorMittal Sestao with cold rolled steel.
