Certification objective for all our sites

The internationally recognised OHSAS 18001 certification defines standards for occupational health and safety management. Currently, 16 of our sites are certified in accordance with these criteria: 10 service centres (Massalengo, Isbergues, Duisburg, Sersheim, Rodange, Genk, Usti, Ancerville, Iberica, Siemianowice) and our 6 production plant (Châtelet, Genk, Gueugnon, Isbergues, Firminy and Pont de Roide).

Our objective: to achieve OHSAS 18001 certification for all our sites by the end of 2009.

Building on best practices

We encourage and promote the sharing and imitation of  Health & Safety good practices involving the whole personnel and trade unions by means of:

  • Tools, such as an intranet database for experience-sharing.

  • Inter-site working groups bringing together operators and managers to address specific issues.

  • Days dedicated to Health & Safety at ArcelorMittal group level or within Stainless Europe.

  • The work of the Stainless Health & Safety Committee that meets 4 times per year. This committee, which gathers the Safety Coordinators of each Business Unit, is also in charge of Improving the Roadmap's follow-up.
